Dear reader,

I’m sure, with your interest in Krøyer, you most likely are familiar with the picture of the girl on the painting of Skagen’s beach with the playing boys. I have an idea for a small animation around this painting, featuring Krøyer and the little girl, so I made front view sketches from the girl. Taking a closer look at Krøyer’s painting of the girl, made me realise again how fantastic the pose of the girl is. Really iconic. It deserves to be highlighted. It makes me wonder if we will see Krøyer in the process of painting some of his well known paintings in the coming up movie, ‘Balladen om Marie’.

NB The beach painting can be seen in the Hirschsprungske samling, the study of only the girl at Skagens museum.
